Idiom of the Week

Our Idiom of the week was "apple of my eye"
This expression means that something or someone is cherished, valued and adored. It has an interesting historical evolution as it originally referred to the actual eye (apples were some of the most commonly used spheres back in the olden days) and since eye-sight was cherished, its more commonly used figurative meaning of today became prevalent.
